The mission statement of the Metropolitan Chicago Synod is:
"In Jesus' Name • Proclaim the Gospel • Make Disciples • Do Justice."  

The Metropolitan Chicago Synod is one of 65 synods in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  The synod has 217 congregations in four counties in Illinois - Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Lake.  The baptized membership of congregations in the synod in 2004 was 116,003.  The synod also supports ELCA-related and partner institutions

Directions to the synod office:

From the Kennedy Expressway

(I-90/94) exit at Armitage Avenue (2000N). Drive East on Armitage to Ashland Avenue, turn left (North) to Webster, turn right (East) to Clybourn.  Turn right to the corner of Shakespeare, Southport, and Clybourn. Turn right (South) on Southport, turn right (West) on Dickens to 1420. Extra parking is available at Webster Place.

If you are calling after hours, during devotions or when we are unavailable to answer the phone, please feel free to leave voice mail messages.  To do so without listening to the entire voice mail directory, using your touch-tone phone, enter the extension of the person for whom you would like to leave a message (see list above).  If you want to leave a message for more than one person -after completing the first message, press *8 and the voice mail system will ask for another extension - enter the new extension and leave your message.
