The Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the ELCA is partnering with
Stephen Ministries in St. Louis to bring Acts 15 to congregations
Acts 15 (formerly Koinonia Leadership) is a system of whole congregation leadership that empowers a Christ-centered, mission-driven team to lead the congregation in a new and powerful way.
A congregation’s Acts 15 team includes five to ten carefully selected leaders—including the pastor, perhaps other church staff, and several laypeople—who participate together in Koinonia Leadership training conducted in the Chicago area.
Members of the Acts 15 team then work to lead the congregation to become stronger, healthier, and more focused and effective in carrying out Christ’s mission in our rapidly changing world.
Eleven MCS congregations are currently participating in Acts 15. A second wave of training will take place in fall 2011 so that additional congregations can come on board.
