MetroWord - The Metropolitan Chicago Synod Newsletter - Published monthly, and also made available online, the newsletter, MetroWord, is mailed to congregations, rostered leaders, and others by request. The deadline for submission of information is the 15th of each month. Submissions may be e-mailed to Jeff Drake at
jdrake@mcselca.org, or faxed (773-248-8455), or mailed to the synod office.
The newsletter's main emphasis is to publicize events and resources that are of interest to congregations and rostered leaders. Submissions
will be edited for content, grammar, punctuation, and due to space constraints.
Web page - Updated regularly, the MCS Web page offers information, online forms, and links to outside resources. The Metropolitan Chicago Synod is not responsible for the content of links beyond our Web page.
Press Releases - Issued periodically as the need arises and sent to external news media contact people, and mailed with the synod's newsletter, press releases highlight important events that have a broad impact on the synod.
The Lutheran Supplement - Included in
The Lutheran six times throughout the year, the synod supplement includes stories and information of interest to people throughout the Metropolitan Chicago Synod, ELCA. The main emphasis of the synod supplement is to inform people of and interpret events that have already occurred. Articles should have an interest beyond the local congregation.
